SUMMARY:EOSC Academy – Course 4 – Minimum Requirements for a Project Charter
DESCRIPTION:This course prepares research infrastructure professionals interested in applying to a Tripartite node enrolment call to develop compliant EOSC Federation Project Charters. The Project Charter is a mandatory document required for the EOSC Federation enrolment process and serves as the operational foundation for your Node during the build-up phase. \nThis course is designed for Node coordinators\, consortium partners\, technical leads\, and policy officers who are preparing to join the EOSC Federation. It is organised in 8 Modules covering all 10 Charter sections\, with practical exercises and real examples from first-wave Nodes that help with completing the Project Charter template. It concludes with a live Q&A session where EOSC-A representatives answer questions about course topics and first-wave Node representatives share practical experiences. \nNo prior experience with Federation governance is required\, though familiarity with your organisation’s research infrastructure is helpful. \n  \nBy the end of this course\, the learner will be able to:\n\n\nDescribe the Project Charter template structure\, the seven General Criteria\, and evaluation requirements\nComplete all 10 sections of your Project Charter using provided templates and examples\nDevelop compelling use cases that demonstrate multi-node collaboration\nDesignate the 5 mandatory key roles with appropriate personnel\nCreate a realistic timeline and risk mitigation plan\nSubmit a complete Charter ready for stakeholder review

SUMMARY:Call for expression of interest: Articles of Association Roadmapping Working Group
DESCRIPTION:BRUSSELS – The EOSC-A Board of Directors has launched a call for expressions of interest to join a new Working Group tasked with developing a roadmap for the revision of the EOSC-A Articles of Association.\nThe call follows the approval of the Working Group’s mandate and duration during the 13th General Assembly meeting\, held on 28-29 May 2026 in Brussels. The call is open to all EOSC-A Members and Observers\, with interested candidates invited to submit their applications by 10 June 2026 (23:59 CEST) via the form below. \nFollowing the application deadline\, the EOSC-A Board will review all expressions of interest and determine the final composition of the Working Group. The Board will take into consideration factors such as the relevance of the applicants’ professional roles and the geographical diversity across the EOSC community. \nThe Board will announce the selected members on 12 June 2026. The group is expected to begin its activities within a week of the announcement. \nLaying the groundwork for EOSC post-2027\nThe establishment of the Working Group reflects the expectation that the current Articles of Association (AoA) will need to be reviewed — and potentially revised — during 2027 to align with the future governance and funding model of EOSC post-2027. Greater clarity on the long-term framework for EOSC is anticipated by the end of 2026. \nAlthough the formal revision of the AoA is planned for 2027\, preparatory work needs to begin earlier to ensure an efficient and well-structured process. The Working Group will therefore focus on designing an AoA revision roadmap during 2026. \nWorking Group composition\nThe Working Group’s composition will aim to ensure balanced representation across all EOSC-A stakeholder communities and reflect their relative size\, as presented in the table below. \n\n\n\n\nStakeholder group\nNumber of representatives\n\n\n\n\nEOSC-A Mandated Organisations\n2\n\n\nFunders\n1\n\n\nRPO Umbrella Organisations\n1\n\n\nResearch Performing Organisations\n2\n\n\nESFRI Research Infrastructures\n1\n\n\ne-Infrastructures (multi-country)\n1\n\n\nService Providers (national)\n1\n\n\nEOSC-A Board of Directors\n2\n\n\nSecretariat (ex officio/non-voting capacity)\n2\n\n\n\n\nWorking Group mandate\nThe purpose of the Working Group is to: \n\nPropose the Articles of Association Revision Roadmap for implementation during 2027\, including its process\, timeline\, outputs and milestones.\nDefine the mandate\, reporting lines\, composition and selection process for the committee to implement the roadmap.\n\nThe Working Group will report to the EOSC-A General Assembly and will present its proposals at the General Assembly held in November 2026. \nThe Working Group’s deliverables will be: \n\nThe AoA Revision Roadmap identifying the required process\, timeline\, outputs and milestones; and\nThe mandate\, reporting lines\, membership and selection process for the committee which will implement the roadmap during 2027.\n\nRules of Procedure: Meetings will be considered quorate if more than 50% of the Working Group members are present. The Working Group will act by consensus wherever possible. When required however\, the chair will have a casting vote. \nWorking Group lifetime\nThe Working Group will be convened in June 2026 and complete its mandate by the General Assembly of the EOSC Association held in November 2026. Effort will be contributed in-kind. No remuneration will be provided for time invested by Working Group members. \nThe Working Group will meet virtually\, with a frequency to be determined by the Working Group members. The Working Group will be provided with administrative support by the EOSC-A Secretariat and EOSC Gravity project to help with coordination and logistics.
