DESCRIPTION:To celebrate and advance the practice of Open Science\, the Open Science Community Delft as part of the Network of Open Science Communities in the Netherlands (OSC-NL) proudly presents the third National Open Science Week at TU Delft. \nThis year’s theme\, “How to Open Science”\, focuses on the practical side of making research more open\, transparent\, reproducible\, and inclusive. While support for Open Science continues to grow across the academic community\, many researchers are still looking for concrete ways to integrate Open Science practices into their daily work. This edition of Open Science Week aims to provide hands-on guidance\, tools\, and inspiration to help researchers move from intention to implementation. \nThroughout the week\, participants can take part in a series of practical workshops showcasing different approaches to Open Science in research\, education\, and societal engagement. Whether you are taking your first steps or looking to deepen your existing practice\, the programme will offer opportunities to learn from experts\, peers\, and support professionals across TU Delft. \nIn addition to the workshops\, the week will feature the annual Open Science Meet-up\, bringing together researchers\, support staff\, and students to connect and exchange experiences\, as well as the TU Delft Open Science Awards Celebration\, recognising individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to Open Science.

DESCRIPTION:18th BERLIN OPEN ACCESS CONFERENCE\nRESETTING THE TERMS OF SCHOLARLY PUBLISHING \n15–17 September 2026\, Harnack House\, Berlin\, Germany \n\nAfter a decade of open access agreements\, the focus is extending beyond execution to what scholarly publishing is expected to deliver and how to shape system-level outcomes. \nThe 18th Berlin Open Access Conference (B18) will convene senior leaders from research institutions\, library consortia\, and funding bodies alongside major publishers to address a central question: What must change now to realign scholarly publishing with the interests of the research community? \nBuilding on years of negotiating and implementing open publishing agreements\, B18 will move beyond incremental progress to focus on: \n\nAccountability and transparency – assessing pricing and performance against stated commitments\, using shared data\nAI and publishing models – implications for cost\, licensing\, and control of scholarly content\nThe evolution of open access agreements – clarifying the value of publishing services and aligning costs with that value\nScalable alternatives and coordinated investment – advancing collective approaches to open publishing\nPublishing ethics\, research integrity and trust – reinforcing expectations for quality and transparency across the system\n\nThe conference will combine direct engagement with publishers and closed strategic coordination among negotiators\, with the aim of strengthening alignment and advancing system-level change. \nB18 is a targeted\, invitation-based meeting focused on those shaping agreements and policy. Participation is limited to ensure productive exchange at the highest level and broad geographic representation across the OA Forward community. Further updates will be published on this page.
