SUMMARY:Conference on Open Science for Innovation
DESCRIPTION:UNESCO convenes the Open Science for Innovation Conference to examine how open science partnerships can support the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science. Five years since its adoption\, commitment among Member States is broad but implementation remains uneven\, and the evidence base for what open science partnerships deliver remains thin. The Conference is organised in collaboration with the Open Innovation in Science Centre at Aarhus University and Conscience\, with the support of McGill University and Miller International Knowledge. \nHosted at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (Room XI) on Thursday\, 12 November 2026\, in the context of the twenty-fifth anniversary of World Science Day for Peace and Development\, the Conference is built around four plenary sessions: \n\nOpen science\, partnerships and intellectual property\nOpen science partnerships in practice\nOpen science\, data and research security\nThe role of government in encouraging open science partnerships
