DESCRIPTION:Anschaffung und Aufbau von hochwertiger Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen für EU-Missionen SOIL und WATERS\n\n\n\n\nMit der Initiative der FFG zur Förderung von Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen soll in Österreich die Basis für exzellente Forschung sowohl für Einrichtungen für Forschung und Wissensverbreitung als auch für Unternehmen gestärkt und damit die internationale Positionierung der österreichischen Forschungs- und Innovationsaktivitäten im Rahmen der EU Missionen SOIL and WATERS verbessert werden. Die Ausschreibung adressiert somit sowohl Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen für Grundlagenforschung als auch für anwendungsorientierte Forschung und Entwicklung.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWas wird gefördert?\nMit dieser Ausschreibung werden Vorhaben zur Anschaffung und zum Aufbau von Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen (Nutzungstypen „nicht-wirtschaftliche Nutzung“ und „wirtschaftliche Nutzung“) für Grundlagenforschung und für anwendungsorientierte Forschung im Kontext der nationalen Umsetzung der EU-Missionen SOIL und WATERS gefördert. \nEs stehen 1\,3 Mio. Euro zur Verfügung. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWer wird gefördert?\nFörderbar für den Nutzungstyp „nicht-wirtschaftliche Nutzung“ sind: \n\nEinrichtungen für Forschung und Wissensverbreitung\n\nHochschulen (Universitäten und Fachhochschulen)\nAußeruniversitäre Forschungseinrichtungen\nTechnologietransfereinrichtungen\, Innovationsmittler und sonstige wissenschaftsorientierte Organisationen (z.B. Vereine gemäß Vereinszweck\, Betreiber von F&E-Infrastrukturen)\n\n\nFörderbar für den Nutzungstyp „wirtschaftliche Nutzung“ sind:\n\nEinrichtungen für Forschung und Wissensverbreitung\nUnternehmen\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWie hoch ist die Förderung?\nDie max. Förderungssumme beträgt 650.000 Euro. Die Förderungsquote beträgt: \n\nbeim Nutzungstyp “nicht-wirtschaftliche Nutzung“: 90%\nbeim Nutzungstyp “wirtschaftliche Nutzung“: 50%\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWas sind die Einreichkriterien?\n\nEinzel- oder Konsortialantragstellung\nLaufzeit 3 Jahre\nFörderbare Gesamtkosten mindestens 200.000 Euro\nDie antragstellende Organisation/Konsortialführung muss eine Betriebsstätte und/oder Niederlassung in Österreich haben.\nDer Projektstandort der anzuschaffenden Forschungsdateninfrastruktur muss sich in Österreich befinden.\nPro antragstellender Organisation und Nutzungstyp können max. 2 Förderungsanträge eingereicht werden.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWie erfolgt die Einreichung?\nDie Einreichung ist ausschließlich elektronisch und vor Ablauf der Einreichfrist via eCall möglich. \nEinreichschluss im eCall ist der 02.04.2025\, 12:00:00 (MESZ). \nBis zu diesem Zeitpunkt müssen die Anträge in elektronischer Form (eCall) bei der Einreichstelle eingelangt sein. Für den rechtzeitigen Eingang des Antrags hat der/die Antragsteller:in Sorge zu tragen. Eine Nachreichung – auch von Teilen des Antrags – ist nicht möglich. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWann gibt es eine Entscheidung?\nDie Sitzung des Bewertungsgremiums findet voraussichtlich im Juni 2025 statt. SUMMARY:CoARA's Second Call for Cascade Funding
DESCRIPTION:Summary of the Call\n\nThis call for Cascade Funding aims to enhance institutional change and target pilot and exchange-of-knowledge initiatives. It will fund +20 projects facilitating knowledge-exchange\, piloting new initiatives within institutions\, and enabling lasting institutional change. As such\, it encourages and supports research organisations to investigate and test what will efficiently work ‘in real life’. \nMore specifically\, the first call aims to: \n\nFacilitate the exchange\, transfer and adaptation of proven good practices and their adoption in research organisations.\nCatalyse the set-up or transformation of research assessment practices and tools in line with the commitments of the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment.\nSupport the development and testing of new and innovative research assessment approaches\, models and procedures.\n\nProjects can be proposed by any of the organisation types specified below through a cascading grant mechanism. By the end of the programme\, it is expected to have a diverse portfolio of projects available that will translate the shared vision outlined in the Agreement into tangible\, lasting institutional changes in research assessment practices. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKey Figures\n\n\n\n\nTotal funding\n€2.33m total funding – €1.22m to be released in the second round.\n\n\nFunding per project\n€ 30\,000 to € 60\,000: a lump sum\, depending on the type of project\n\n\nNumber of projects\nto be funded\n50 overall: 25 projects selected in the first round. Up to 25 projects to be selected for the second round\n\n\nTarget applicants\nLegal entities interested in reforming research assessment practices in their institutions\n\n\n1st call\n26 April – 26 June 2024\n\n\n2nd call\n21 February – 21 April 2025 (closes at 17h CET)\n\n\nDuration of the projects\nImplementation within 12 months after signature of a Third-Party Project Agreement – TPPA\n\n\nStart of the projects\n1 September 2025\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContext of the Call\n\nOver 800 research organisations\, funders\, assessment authorities\, professional societies\, and their associations have agreed on a common direction and principles for reforming the assessment of research\, researchers and research organisations\, outlined in the Agreement on Reforming Research Assessment. They have also committed to implement changes within their organisations. \nCoARA\, the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment\, offers a platform for collaboration and mutual learning. However\, given the complexity of the reform process\, providing support for institutions to test\, design\, and carry out in-depth institutional changes is crucial to implement the Agreement commitments. \nThe CoARA Boost project\,funded by the European Union\, strengthens CoARA’s operational capacity. It provides a means to develop a critical mass for reforming research assessment\, to generate gravitas for new members as well as to investigate and implement new models for research assessment. \nThe Cascade Funding Programme within CoARA Boost represents more than half of the project’s overall budget. This programme will support a minimum of 50 organisations in tackling specific challenges related to reforming research assessment and implementing the Agreement commitments. By supporting different types of proposals\, the programme will maintain a balanced portfolio of projects. SUMMARY:RDA TIGER Cascade Grant Call for Adoption Grants – Apply by 27 April
DESCRIPTION:This call for Cascading Grants seeks applications from researchers\, research institutes\, universities\, enterprises\, consortia and other legal entities who wish to receive financial support to adopt the results of the RDA Working Groups (WGs). Applicants must be eligible to receive Horizon Europe funding\, or be affiliated to an entity that is eligible. \n\n\nSpecifically\, the call invites applications from: \n\n\n\nRDA Working Groups: Groups who require support for projects that aid the adoption or testing of WG outputs. The grant funds can be used to cover the personnel and travel costs of the Group’s existing members\, stipends or salaries of new team members\, conference and open access fees and fees of external experts (e.g.\, to solve specific legal\, technical\, IPR\, or standardisation-related issues). See the section “Eligibility Criteria” for more details. We also invite applications from RDA WGs launching a formal standardisation process to have the WG Recommendations recognised as input by an established technical standards organisation.\nEntities or researchers who wish to adopt an RDA output. Specifically\, the grant funds can be used to support the adoption\, testing\, harmonisation\, and/or implementation of RDA Recommendations or Outputs produced by RDA Working Groups.1 We also invite organisations focusing on the technical implementation\, prototyping and/or proof-of-concept using RDA Recommendations or Outputs to support the  interoperability of open science solutions\, especially in the EOSC context.\n\n\n\nApplications are received up until 27.04.2025 (AoE).2 \n\n\nThe selected projects are expected to be launched in May 2025 and need to be concluded by the end of October 2025.
