SUMMARY:2nd Reproduction Games Münster
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second Münster Reproduction Games – a one-day event dedicated to reproducing and replicating papers from top-tier academic journals. \nIt is run by the Institute for Replication\, Center for Data Science and Complexity\, Service Center for Digital Humanities\, Münster Center for Open Science\, Institute for Political Science\, and the Replication Journal Federation. \nWhat is this about? \nReplication is an essential part of the scientific process\, as it verifies the robustness and generalizability of published findings. By participating\, you will not only help strengthen research integrity but also expand your network and sharpen your coding and research skills. Participants will write reports that they can then submit to one of multiple innovative\, scholarly-led open access journals. \nWhy Attend? \n•       Join a team of 3-5 researchers and reproduce/replicate a published study. You will be matched based on research interests and a study will be assigned to your team. Graduate students will work closely with more experienced researchers\, ensuring that everyone benefits from shared expertise. \n•       Connect with fellow researchers from the University of Münster and beyond. \n•       Refine your coding skills and data management techniques. \n•       With participants’ permission\, completed reproductions/replications will be published on the MüCOS Zenodo Community. Participants will author reproducibility reports that they can submit to one of multiple high-quality replication journals. Depending on the topic\, participants may also become co-authors on a meta-paper that summarizes replications for specific topics. \nWhich research disciplines and topics will be represented? \nThis year\, participants will reproduce or replicate studies from the following disciplines: \n\nDigital Humanities\nPhysics: Machine Learning for Nonlinear Dynamics\nPolitical Science\nPsychology*\nEarly life interventions*\nTropical diseases*\n\n*meta-paper opportunity \nReady to Join?\nPlease sign up using the registration function on this website until 28 August\, 2026. There will be an online pre-games meeting for participants to meet their team members and select their target studies on 11 September\, 2026. \nSpaces are limited\, so be sure to sign up soon. Feel free to share this invitation with colleagues or graduate students who might be interested. We look forward to welcoming you to the Münster Reproduction Games for an exciting day of collaboration\, learning\, and scientific progress. \nIf you have any questions or need further information\, please contact: Lukas Röseler (lukas.roeseler@uni-muenster.de).
