SUMMARY:Info webinar on data access for researchers under the Digital Services Act
DESCRIPTION:Under article 40 of the Digital Services Act (DSA)\, vetted researchers will be able to request data from very large online platforms (VLOPs) and search engines (VLOSEs) to conduct research on systemic risks in the EU. \nA draft delegated act clarifies the procedures leading to the sharing of data by VLOPs and VLOSEs with vetted researchers. It also specifies conditions for providing such data and establishes a DSA data access portal to serve as a one-stop-shop for researchers\, data providers and Digital Services Coordinators (DSCs). \nThe European Commission is hosting an info webinar\, targeted at researchers who would like to learn more about the delegated act and how it might benefit their research. It will take place on 19 November\, 10:00-11:30.

SUMMARY:Data Visualization with R and Jupyter
DESCRIPTION:As part of Infra4NextGen\, AUSSDA – The Austrian Social Science Data Archive is hosting a webinar on Data Vizualisation in R and Jupyter for social science researchers\, MA and PhD students. \nIn the first part of the webinar\, participants will learn the basics of visualizations\, understand the criteria for good science graphics\, get to know the process of visualizing data\, and learn more about the role of colours and fonts. \nThe second part of the webinar will introduce them to ggplot2 and its functions to create state-of-the-art plots following the principles from part one of the webinar. \nAfter completing this webinar\, participants will be able to use ggplot2 to visually communicate their research results. \nThey will understand the basic purpose of data visualizations and increase their visual literacy. \nAttendees will be able to perceive\, interpret and comprehend all sorts of different visualizations and create these visualizations for their own research. \nAfter completing this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n\nUse ggplot2 to visually communicate their research results\nKnow the basic purpose of data visualizations and increase their visual literacy\nPerceive\, interpret and comprehend all sorts of different visualizations and\nCreate these visualizations for their own research.
