SUMMARY:Webinar: Piloting the Next Generation EOSC in an Experimental Network of Nodes
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will show how EOSC Beyond is helping a network of national\, thematic\, and e-infrastructure pilot EOSC nodes move from standalone infrastructures to a more cohesive network\, mirroring the operational EOSC Federation. \nBuilding on the substantial progress through the first two years of the EOSC Beyond project\, we’ll hear from Node representatives who are leading this transformation. Discover real-world use cases\, technical integrations\, and the collaborative blueprint that is contributing to turning the vision of a federated EOSC into a working reality.

SUMMARY:Are We Measuring Open Science the Right Way?
DESCRIPTION:This webinar explores how Open Science indicators can be used responsibly to support evidence-based policy\, monitoring\, and research assessment reform. As indicators increasingly shape how progress in Open Science is measured and communicated\, they also influence incentives across the research system. \nThe session brings together European initiatives working on Open Science monitoring\, responsible metrics\, and impact assessment to reflect on the opportunities\, risks\, and guiding principles for the use of indicators in policy and practice. \nThe discussion aims to recognise that indicators do more than describe reality – they can shape incentives\, influence behaviour\, and affect policy and funding decisions. The session will create a space for dialogue between monitoring initiatives\, research assessment reform efforts\, and policy actors working to ensure the responsible use of indicators in the European research landscape. \nTARGET AUDIENCE \n\nPolicy makers and national ministries\nResearch funders and funding agencies\nEOSC governance actors and Steering Board members\nOpen science initiative leads at national and European level\nResearch assessment reform communities (e.g. CoARA members)\nMonitoring and evaluation experts in the European research landscape

SUMMARY:EOSC Academy – Course 2 – Applying the EOSC Federation Handbook – online session 1
DESCRIPTION:The EOSC Federation Handbook is a practical guide for facility managers\, resource providers\, and technical staff implementing the EOSC Federation. This course will explain how to apply the Federation Handbook with the help of real-world Node implementations. It will provide guidance on how to build Nodes and join the Federation. The course targets organizations preparing\, or are in the start-up phase to build Nodes and EOSC community members seeking deeper understanding of Federation processes. \n\n\n\n\nSpecific goals of the course: \n\nExplain what readers of the Handbook can expect to learn from the Handbook.\nClarify what can and cannot be found in the Handbook.\nPresent how the Handbook requirements were applied by specific Nodes.\nLearn how to Apply the building of a Node and join the Federation.\nConvey the idea of the Handbook as a community effort (led and carried out by the community)\, that it is in continuous evolution\, and that feedback is welcome and desired (stressing the channels to do that would be good)\n\nThe course targets the beneficiaries of the Gravity Preparatory and Interproject Calls who are preparing to build a Node as well as organisations and experts within the EOSC community who wish to deepen their understanding of the Federation and the processes supporting its development. \nTo ensure the course is as interactive as possible the strategy is to use a “flipped classroom” approach. The goal is to encourage the audience to engage with the EOSC Federation Handbook (aka Handbook) before the session\, so the online sessions can focus on high-level explanation and answering their specific questions. \nBy the end of this course\, the learner will:\n\n\nHave detailed knowledge of the Handbook:\nUnderstand the significance of the Handbook;\nBe able to reflect on how to apply it to their own needs;\nBe able to formulate and answer questions on the process of becoming a node.

SUMMARY:EOSC Academy – Course 4 – Minimum Requirements for a Project Charter
DESCRIPTION:This course prepares research infrastructure professionals interested in applying to a Tripartite node enrolment call to develop compliant EOSC Federation Project Charters. The Project Charter is a mandatory document required for the EOSC Federation enrolment process and serves as the operational foundation for your Node during the build-up phase. \nThis course is designed for Node coordinators\, consortium partners\, technical leads\, and policy officers who are preparing to join the EOSC Federation. It is organised in 8 Modules covering all 10 Charter sections\, with practical exercises and real examples from first-wave Nodes that help with completing the Project Charter template. It concludes with a live Q&A session where EOSC-A representatives answer questions about course topics and first-wave Node representatives share practical experiences. \nNo prior experience with Federation governance is required\, though familiarity with your organisation’s research infrastructure is helpful. \n  \nBy the end of this course\, the learner will be able to:\n\n\nDescribe the Project Charter template structure\, the seven General Criteria\, and evaluation requirements\nComplete all 10 sections of your Project Charter using provided templates and examples\nDevelop compelling use cases that demonstrate multi-node collaboration\nDesignate the 5 mandatory key roles with appropriate personnel\nCreate a realistic timeline and risk mitigation plan\nSubmit a complete Charter ready for stakeholder review
