DESCRIPTION:Die Europäische Kommission hat zwei neue Aufforderungen zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen im Rahmen des Clusters „Digitalisierung\, Industrie und Raumfahrt“ des Arbeitsprogramms „Horizont Europa“ veröffentlicht\, mit denen 307\,3 Mio. EUR zur Stärkung der digitalen Innovation und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Europas bereitgestellt werden. \n\n\n\nInsgesamt 221\,8 Mio. EUR sind für eine Initiative bestimmt\, die sich auf die Entwicklung vertrauenswürdiger Dienste der künstlichen Intelligenz (KI)\, innovativer Datendienste und die Sicherung der strategischen Autonomie der EU konzentriert. Im Rahmen der Aufforderung werden Projekte finanziert\, die zur Entwicklung von KI beitragen\, einschließlich Maßnahmen zur Unterstützung der Strategie „Anwenden von KI“\, der Robotik\, der Quantentechnologien\, der Photonik und virtueller Welten. Mit mehr als 40 Mio. EUR für die „Open Internet Stack Initiative“ werden sowohl Endnutzeranwendungen als auch Technologien innerhalb der Stacks entwickelt\, um europäische souveräne digitale Gemeingüter zu unterstützen. \nFür die zweite Aufforderung zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen stehen zusätzliche 85\,5 Mio. EUR zur Verfügung\, mit denen eine offene strategische Autonomie bei digitalen und neu entstehenden Technologien und Rohstoffen unterstützt wird. Es wird sich auf Themen wie KI-Agenten der nächsten Generation\, Robotik für Industrie- und Serviceanwendungen und die Entwicklung neuer Materialien mit verbesserten Sensorfunktionen konzentrieren. \nDiese Aufforderungen zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen fördern nachhaltige Innovation und die europäische Führungsrolle bei strategischen digitalen Technologien im Einklang mit dem Kompass der Kommission für Wettbewerbsfähigkeit. Mit diesen Investitionen will die Kommission die Führungsrolle bei strategischen Technologien durch nachhaltige\, auf den Menschen ausgerichtete Innovationen sichern. \nCluster 4 des Arbeitsprogramms von Horizont Europa „Digitalisierung\, Industrie und Raumfahrt“ ist strategisch darauf ausgerichtet\, die Führungsrolle und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Europas in wichtigen strategischen digitalen Sektoren wie KI\, Quantentechnologie\, künftigen digitalen Netzen\, virtuellen Welten und anderen Schlüsseltechnologien zu beschleunigen. It plays an increasingly important role in the quality of academic work and in how research is taught and learned today. But how can this topic be effectively conveyed in teaching? \nIn this Open Science Education Coffee Lecture\, Richard Ball\, Professor of Economics at Haverford College (USA)\, will provide insights into the work of Project TIER\, which he has helped shape for many years. As a member of the Executive Committee\, he is one of the individuals who help shape the project’s content and strategy. His talk is therefore not only an introduction to the approaches of Project TIER\, but also an opportunity to explore the development of reproducible research from a perspective that closely integrates teaching and research. \nRichard Ball will demonstrate how transparency and reproducibility have been systematically integrated into the teaching of quantitative methods in the economic and social sciences since 2013. This involves specific teaching approaches\, methodological and professional skills\, and the question of how the standards of scientific research have changed in recent years – for example\, through data and code policies and the establishment of replication archives.

SUMMARY:FOR2026 Conference: The Future of Open Research: Reliable\, Responsible\, Equitable
DESCRIPTION:The future of open research is uncertain. On the one hand\, decades of activism and institutional support have placed the value and significance of intelligent strategies and formats for open research (and its dissemination) beyond doubt. Openness is central to the development of trustworthy\, accountable\, collaborative\, and socially engaged knowledge. On the other hand\, open research measures need to be tailored to diverse research conditions around the globe and across domains\, which in turn requires substantial investment\, local engagement\, responsiveness to the ethical and social dimensions of inquiry\, and attention to diversity\, equity\, and inclusion. \nWhile the implementation of open science principles is certainly facilitated by ever more accessible digital technologies and training programmes\, for many researchers around the world\, acquiring the expertise and skills to engage in open research practices remains elusive. Exposure to open research initiatives often happens as an end-user rather than as an active contributor. This is because well-resourced environments produce the tools\, set the research goals\, define the standards and methods\, which leads to them benefiting disproportionally from the opportunities. This makes even the best-intentioned projects into opportunities for the best-resourced environments (which are often in charge of producing open science tools) to impose their own understanding of research goals\, standards\, and methods on everybody else. Therefore\, without domain- and location-specific input\, the risk is that open research amplifies existing inequities and discrimination in the production\, use\, and evaluation of knowledge\, thereby inflicting damage to the research system instead of the promised improvements. And this is not to mention the ongoing debates over how politically unpalatable open science may be\, the extent to which open research has been appropriated by commercial entities such as large publishing companies and digital platforms\, the fraught intersection between open science and artificial intelligence\, and the ongoing difficulties in supporting and maintaining open research activities and tools in the long term. \nThis conference brings together scholars\, activists\, and policymakers to consider this challenging landscape and discuss the future of open research. Our goal is to facilitate the development of open research practices explicitly geared to serve the public interest\, which involves interrogating what may constitute that ‘public interest’ to different audiences and in different locations around the world. A central element for our discussions will be the development of a Munich Manifesto for Equitable Open Research\, detailing ways to utilise open research to foster reliable\, responsible\, and equitable forms of inquiry. A draft text of the manifesto will be circulated two weeks before the conference to all participants\, and one session of the conference will be dedicated to discussing and finalising the declaration and its possible signatories. \nWe call for contributions by researchers across all fields of knowledge\, including the arts and humanities\, policy-makers interested in research and development\, representatives of scholarly and commercial institutions involved in research\, and civil society associations engaged in knowledge production.

SUMMARY:Webinar: OMERO – A Platform for Image Data Management
DESCRIPTION:The Health Data Research Hub (HDRH) at the Medical University of Graz provides a secure data environment and standardized interfaces that form the foundation for data excellence across the entire research data lifecycle—from study planning and the creation of data management plans to long-term storage and the secure reuse of data in analytical environments. \nThis presentation will focus on OMERO\, an open-source platform developed by the Open Microscopy Environment (OME) for the centralized storage\, management\, visualization\, and analysis of microscopy and bioimaging data\, including associated metadata. Its client–server architecture enables location-independent access via web and desktop clients\, while an access-controlled infrastructure ensures secure data management and distribution. \nBy automatically capturing microscope metadata\, OMERO supports transparent and reproducible research in accordance with the FAIR principles. In addition\, it offers compatibility with numerous bioimaging file formats\, as well as APIs and plugins that enable high interoperability. \nThe presentation will conclude with a short live demonstration of OMERO and selected workflows.

DESCRIPTION:Open Science is an integral part of today’s research. It encompasses a wide range of practices and outputs across all stages of the research lifecycle. For instance\, researchers share their publications via repositories\, publish in Open Access journals\, and disseminate early findings through preprints. They make their data FAIR\, preregister their research protocols\, and engage the public through Citizen Science initiatives. \nChallenges include selecting the most appropriate channel for publishing research\, considering the economic implications of this choice\, as well as managing the learning curve and time investment required to implement certain Open Science principles. At the same time\, researchers must navigate various considerations\, including GDPR compliance\, intellectual property rights\, and research security. KU Leuven is committed to Open Science\, guided by the principle: “as open as possible\, as closed as necessary.” \nThe Open Science Day is an opportunity for researchers of the KU Leuven Association to take part in this discussion\, to showcase their own Open Science efforts\, to shed a light on difficulties they might encounter\, to share experiences and solutions.

Again\, we are planning two sessions where we will dive deeply into the topics that are of burning interest to us all. \nWe cordially invite you to join our 10thOpen Science Retreat that will be held virtually on 6 & 7 May 2026\, 15:00-17:00 CEST. \nIt is dedicated to the theme “The future of Open Science amid authoritarianism\, geopolitical tensions and aspirations for data sovereignty”. \n  \nFundamental scientific principles and findings are under unprecedented attack: Disinformation and science scepticism has reached new levels\, threatening the very foundations of democracy and science. Autocratic governments are attempting to restrict academic freedom and to use science and research to legitimise their very own political narratives and agendas. At the same time\, geopolitical tensions are deepening\, leading to increased security concerns in science and research\, potentially leading to less openness\, collaboration and communication among researchers around the globe. Last but not least\, these developments are also having a significant impact on the availability of research infrastructures and Open Science materials. Despite growing global commitment to openness\, significant structural inequities persist within the scholarly publishing and research infrastructure. DESCRIPTION:The EOSC Federation Handbook is a practical guide for facility managers\, resource providers\, and technical staff implementing the EOSC Federation. This course will explain how to apply the Federation Handbook with the help of real-world Node implementations. It will provide guidance on how to build Nodes and join the Federation. The course targets organizations preparing\, or are in the start-up phase to build Nodes and EOSC community members seeking deeper understanding of Federation processes. \n\n\n\n\nSpecific goals of the course: \n\nExplain what readers of the Handbook can expect to learn from the Handbook.\nClarify what can and cannot be found in the Handbook.\nPresent how the Handbook requirements were applied by specific Nodes.\nLearn how to Apply the building of a Node and join the Federation.\nConvey the idea of the Handbook as a community effort (led and carried out by the community)\, that it is in continuous evolution\, and that feedback is welcome and desired (stressing the channels to do that would be good)\n\nThe course targets the beneficiaries of the Gravity Preparatory and Interproject Calls who are preparing to build a Node as well as organisations and experts within the EOSC community who wish to deepen their understanding of the Federation and the processes supporting its development. \nTo ensure the course is as interactive as possible the strategy is to use a “flipped classroom” approach. The goal is to encourage the audience to engage with the EOSC Federation Handbook (aka Handbook) before the session\, so the online sessions can focus on high-level explanation and answering their specific questions. \nBy the end of this course\, the learner will:\n\n\nHave detailed knowledge of the Handbook:\nUnderstand the significance of the Handbook;\nBe able to reflect on how to apply it to their own needs;\nBe able to formulate and answer questions on the process of becoming a node.

It is organised in 8 Modules covering all 10 Charter sections\, with practical exercises and real examples from first-wave Nodes that help with completing the Project Charter template. DESCRIPTION:Expected Outcome: \nProject results are expected to contribute to the following outcomes: \n\nThe EOSC Federation provides to EOSC users with state-of-the-art digital services addressing their needs to store\, process and share data\, run software\, models and workflows\, and collaborate with their peers.\nResearch and digital infrastructures and other organisations providing scientific services are equipped with appropriate structures and technical\, legal and coordination mechanisms to onboard\, manage and sustainably operate digital tools and services in the EOSC Federation.\nInvestments across Europe in the provision of FAIR scientific data and services within EOSC are more aligned and coordinated\, achieving economies of scale and more efficient use of digital resources.\n\nScope: \nIn order to carry out typical research workflows\, researchers need to use a broad range of digital services such as data storage\, computing\, applications\, and collaboration tools. Such services are often cost-intensive and their provision is restricted\, e.g. to researchers within a country/region or a specific thematic area. The EOSC Federation aims to provide a trusted\, sovereign and secure environment to researchers in Europe to use high-quality\, FAIR research data and run research workflows\, with a focus on cross-disciplinary and cross-country research collaboration. \nThe aim of the topic is to set up an EOSC Federation-wide mechanism that enables multiple organisations to seamlessly offer such digital services\, and to support the sustained provision of these services to EOSC users. It also aims to enlarge the EOSC Federation by supporting the expansion of Nodes as gateways through which multiple organisations can offer their resources\, such as data and services\, to EOSC users. \nProposals should cover the following activities: \n1) Provide seamless\, user-friendly access to EOSC users to digital services for typical research workflows such as data storage\, computing\, applications\, and collaboration tools\, through a fully integrated EOSC Federation-wide system. \n\nGather requirements and analyse needs of researchers and EOSC users for such services and how they can best complement and integrate with existing resources in the EOSC Federation.\nSupport developing and embedding a Federation-wide resource management and accounting system for the efficient provision of such services across the Federation\, building on the design principles of the ‘virtual credit allocation’ system of the EOSC EU Node and any further development in the EOSC Federation.\nProvide access to EOSC users to such services\, based on the researchers’ and EOSC users’ needs and requirements and making use of a Federation-wide resource management and accounting system and harmonised access policies\, in line with the principles and guidelines of transnational and virtual access to European Research Infrastructures and related EOSC Federation policies.\nUpgrade the EOSC user experience through deep\, back-end\, cross-provider integration of key digital services covering the full research lifecycle\, achieving a user-friendly and robust environment.\nDevelop\, test and demonstrate business models for the effective management of the supply and demand of such services\, as well as for their long-term sustainable provision in the EOSC Federation\, beyond the end of the project’s duration.\nDevelop guidelines to facilitate a harmonised approach to the acquisition and provision of such services that supports research data sovereignty and research security in Europe\, ensuring a trusted\, secure and sovereign EOSC Federation.\nEstablish mechanisms for continuous feedback and improvement\, including indicators for monitoring the quality and usage of the services\, building on and further developing existing mechanisms of the EOSC Federation\, and ensuring that the evolving needs and requirements of EOSC users are met by the EOSC Federation.\n\nThese activities should be fully concerted and aligned with related parallel activities carried out by the EOSC Federation. \n2) Support the broadening\, integration and structuring of the participation of research communities in the EOSC Federation through \n\nthe development and establishment of intra-Node coordination mechanisms and organisational models to enable EOSC Nodes to effectively represent broad communities and multiple organisations in the EOSC Federation\,\nthe development and use of digital capabilities\, and of options for harmonised legal arrangements\, such as contractual or service-level agreements\, for onboarding and sustainably provisioning communities’ services through EOSC Nodes\,\nbroadening organisations’ engagement with and contribution to the EOSC Federation\, including underrepresented thematic research communities or geographic areas.\n\nProposals should implement the activities through the organisation of joint calls that provide grants to third parties. \nThe joint calls should be open to organisations that participate or are interested to participate in the EOSC Federation either by operating an EOSC Node or by onboarding their identified resources to the EOSC Federation\, in line with the relevant criteria set by the EOSC Federation. \nProposed activities should be driven by current gaps and needs of scientific communities\, digital infrastructures and service providers. Proposals should clearly demonstrate how they will contribute to addressing these needs and increasing the uptake of the EOSC Federation by researchers. \nThe activities should comply with and contribute to the continuous update and upgrade of related EOSC Federation policies and standards\, including technical and interoperability standards\, the use of open standards\, harmonised access and use policies\, and cybersecurity[1]. \nProposals should include a robust and credible plan for the long-term\, beyond the project’s duration\, sustained operation of the services that they will make available in the EOSC Federation\, and any other relevant project results. \nFor what concerns provision of access to digital services by third parties funded under the joint calls\, proposals should include a list of the digital services that will be supported through the joint calls. The third parties funded under the joint calls should identify the specific digital services that they will provide for access and the amount of access made available to EOSC users\, allocating budget according to users’ demand and making use of the Federation-wide resource management and accounting system. These third parties should also fulfil further conditions and requirements described in the ‘Virtual Access Activities’ part of the ‘Specific Features for Research Infrastructures’ section of this Work Programme\, for what concerns publicity of the access offered\, determining the access costs\, and setting criteria for access by EOSC users in line with the EOSC Federation access policies. Proposals are expected to address compliance with these specific conditions and notably ensure that the selected third parties will provide appropriate documentation to support and justify the amount of access provided and corresponding costs. \nProjects are encouraged to explore synergies with relevant EU initiatives such as EuroHPC. To ensure coherence and complementarity of outcomes\, funded projects are expected to cooperate with each other and with relevant initiatives and projects contributing to the development of the EOSC Federation including actions awarded under the topics HORIZON-INFRA-2023-01-EOSC-04\, HORIZON-INFRA-2024-EOSC-02-01\, HORIZON-INFRA-2025-01-EOSC-01\, HORIZON-INFRA-2026-01-EOSC-01 and closely interact with the organisational setup of the EOSC Federation. To this extent\, proposals should provide for dedicated activities and earmark appropriate resources. SUMMARY:Strengthening the potential of the EOSC for knowledge valorisation and industry-academia collaboration (EOSC Partnership)
DESCRIPTION:Expected Outcome: \nProject results are expected to contribute to the following outcomes: \n\nBetter overview of the identified opportunities and barriers of the EU’s current legal framework on intellectual property (patents\, copyright\, licenses etc.) for researchers to valorise knowledge resources provided and/or processed in the EOSC Federation.\nOrganisations contributing resources to the EOSC Federation have improved capacity\, stronger incentives and better legal and technical conditions to valorise these knowledge resources and engage in open innovation practices and industry-academia collaboration.\nOrganisations contributing to the EOSC Federation have clearer frameworks and incentives to offer their resources to innovators\, deep-tech startups and startups emerging from academia.\nOrganisations contributing to the EOSC Federation have established channels in EOSC to promote knowledge valorisation with the private sector\, including SMEs and industry.\n\nScope: \nThis topic aims to support increasing and exploiting the potential of EOSC as a driver of innovation and a platform for researchers to develop new technologies and solutions that can be brought to the market. \nKnowledge valorisation is one of the EU’s key priorities for the European Research Area\, aiming to ensure that the increasing amount of research results generated in the EU\, mostly with full or partial public funding\, are transformed to products\, services and solutions that benefit society and contribute to economic competitiveness. \nMany initiatives have already been taken at EU level to boost knowledge valorisation\, including the guiding principles\, codes of practice and a platform to build a community to share experiences[1]. \nThe EOSC Federation brings together and makes available to researchers\, large volumes of knowledge resources\, including data\, publications\, software\, tools and services from different research and data infrastructures and scientific services providers across Europe. It therefore has the potential to facilitate and provide appropriate frameworks for knowledge valorisation\, open innovation practices and industry-academia collaboration especially for what concerns results that stem from cross-discipline or cross-country research. Activities funded under this topic should aim to support the capacity of the EOSC Federation and its community to better valorise research results in line with the EU’s code of practice on intellectual assets management[2] and standardisation in the European Research Area[3]. \nA key element in this effort is to clarify the legal conditions to valorise knowledge resources\, including resources provided in the EOSC Federation. As knowledge resources have various degrees of copyright protection\, it is often challenging for researchers to navigate in what they are allowed to do with the knowledge resources and how they can be used in industry-academia collaboration. A better overview of requirements and more legal clarity will therefore incentivise researchers to valorise the knowledge resources of the EOSC Federation. \nThis effort should also take into account the specific needs of different research communities contributing to the EOSC Federation\, ensuring they have the possibility to set better legal terms for knowledge valorisation through appropriate choice of licenses etc. More guidance is therefore needed to ensure that contributors can share their knowledge resources in the EOSC Federation with fewer legal strings attached. \nProposals under this topic should include the following activities: \n\nAnalyse opportunities and barriers emerging from the provisions of the EU’s current legal framework on intellectual property and relevant types of licenses that set the legal conditions for researchers to valorise knowledge resources in EOSC Federation.\nGather requirements and needs\, develop and analyse potential business models and access schemes for innovators and start-ups in Europe to access and use resources available in the EOSC Federation.\nDevelop a number of case studies of identified EOSC stakeholders valorising their results and/or establishing collaboration links with the private sector.\nMap out and evaluate the possibilities of relevant types of licenses for knowledge resources to facilitate knowledge valorisation and engage in open innovation and industry-academia collaboration.\nOrganise workshops\, webinars and awareness-raising campaigns\, and develop guiding material targeted at EOSC users and communities contributing to EOSC on how to facilitate and engage in knowledge valorisation and industry-academia collaboration based on the knowledge resources of EOSC Federation.\nDevelop recommendations and best practices\, based also on the case studies\, for further development of the EOSC Federation to facilitate knowledge valorisation and industry-academia collaboration.\n\nTo ensure complementarity with and use of the latest EU guidelines and research results\, proposals should build on ongoing and previous Horizon Europe-funded projects\, including IP4OS\, EU guiding principles for knowledge valorisation\, Knowledge Valorisation Platform and code of practice for intellectual property management and standards. Each 60-minute teaching unit is structured into 30 minutes of the theoretical part (lecture with presentation) and 30 minutes of the practical part (workshops\, demonstrations\, exercises\, role-playing\, and a living lab\, functioning in the program under the name “data laboratory”). \nThe theoretical component builds participants’ awareness and knowledge by introducing and briefly explaining key issues and terminology. The practical component is equally important\, as it develops skills and competencies through direct application in practice. This approach enables optimal participant development\, creating a stable\, broad foundation of knowledge in data management and supporting the development of competencies necessary in professional and research environments. \nIn addition\, an individual consultation component has been introduced. Participants who want to discuss issues related to the subject of a given session or deepen the content can take advantage of individual consultations with experts every day. This solution promotes systematic and progressive mastery of the material\, allowing for ongoing clarification of doubts\, answering questions that arise\, and developing participants’ individual interests. \nIn this way\, both individual development and the impact of the entire group\, resulting from the commitment and cooperation of individual participants\, are supported. \nThe continuation of the basic programme\, including an in-depth domain and administrative approach to research data management and further targeted support for individual development\, will be carried out in Module 2: Specialisation and Module 3: Individual Mentoring Program. \nThe specialisation component will enable participants to develop competencies in selected areas\, adapted to the specifics of scientific disciplines and real challenges of administrative and repository work. DESCRIPTION:The EOSC Federation Handbook is a practical guide for facility managers\, resource providers\, and technical staff implementing the EOSC Federation. This course will explain how to apply the Federation Handbook with the help of real-world Node implementations. It will provide guidance on how to build Nodes and join the Federation. The course targets organizations preparing\, or are in the start-up phase to build Nodes and EOSC community members seeking deeper understanding of Federation processes. \n\n\n\n\nSpecific goals of the course: \n\nExplain what readers of the Handbook can expect to learn from the Handbook.\nClarify what can and cannot be found in the Handbook.\nPresent how the Handbook requirements were applied by specific Nodes.\nLearn how to Apply the building of a Node and join the Federation.\nConvey the idea of the Handbook as a community effort (led and carried out by the community)\, that it is in continuous evolution\, and that feedback is welcome and desired (stressing the channels to do that would be good)\n\nThe course targets the beneficiaries of the Gravity Preparatory and Interproject Calls who are preparing to build a Node as well as organisations and experts within the EOSC community who wish to deepen their understanding of the Federation and the processes supporting its development. \nTo ensure the course is as interactive as possible the strategy is to use a “flipped classroom” approach. DESCRIPTION:Expected Outcome: \nProject results are expected to contribute to the following outcomes: \n\nCountries\, research communities and institutions are equipped with data sovereignty frameworks harmonised within EOSC and aligned with EU legislation and international agreements.\nImproved mechanisms and solutions for effective control over sensitive data and for enabling lawful data use and sharing across EU member states\, scientific disciplines and third countries with EU adequacy decision in place.\nMore harmonised guidelines\, support and training to researchers and data stewards on applying EU and national legislation and international agreements for data access\, sharing\, reuse\, licensing and associated services within EOSC.\nIncreased interoperability with relevant solutions of other European data spaces for secure data management and processing.\n\nScope: \nResearch data sovereignty refers to the possibility for effective control by data owners of data usage and sharing when necessary. Effective and transparent community-driven data sovereignty frameworks are important enablers of open science\, in particular ensuring safe and trusted management of personal or sensitive data\, safeguarding the quality of curated research datasets and the effective application of related EU and national digital and data legislation. Data sovereignty mechanisms can also improve the resilience and preparedness of research and data infrastructures against risks related to access to and preservation of critical data and services\, including risks related to data generated and stored outside the EU/EEA. \nThe exponential growth of available research data and the increasingly collaborative and cross-disciplinary research has accentuated challenges related to secure\, efficient and lawful cross-border data sharing for research purposes. Removing barriers to data sharing while ensuring data sovereignty is crucial to realise the potential of EOSC to foster trusted cross-country and cross-discipline scientific collaboration. \nThis topic aims to support data sovereignty while enabling seamless and trusted data sharing and access across scientific disciplines\, EU Member States and third countries where the EU considers sufficient data protection is in place\, tackling different regulatory regimes and procedures. \nProposals should include the following activities: \n\nDevelopment and implementation of national\, community and/or institutional research data sovereignty frameworks\, including policies for data sharing and access\, harmonised and aligned with EU digital and data legislation and international agreements such as adequacy decisions and digital partnership agreements\, as well as best practices from EOSC\, related common European data spaces and international data-sharing standards and initiatives.\nDemonstration and validation of concrete adoption cases of data sovereignty policies by national\, community or institutional actors\, aligned with open science and the FAIR data principles.\nDevelopment of harmonised governance frameworks\, ensuring smooth enforcement of data sovereignty policies.\nDevelopment of comprehensive data provenance tools to trace and verify the quality and lineage of data used in research\, and demonstration through identified use cases within relevant selected thematic areas.\nDevelopment of templates and guidelines for secure and sovereign data management\, including template agreements on data sharing\, publication\, and reuse\, and guidelines for licensing.\nDevelopment of guidelines for classifying critical data and services based on sensitivity and relevance to scientific communities and European policies\, and for managing risks related to access to and preservation of such critical data and services.\nAnalysis of data categories and definitions across scientific disciplines\, incorporating compliance with security requirements set out in EU and national legislation.\nDevelopment of recommendations for the establishment of a support centre\, linking with relevant national and thematic competence centres\, focused on compliance of data management with EU and national legislation\, and proof of concept of its integration and sustainable operation in the EOSC Federation.\n\nProjects are encouraged to explore synergies with relevant EU initiatives such as other common European data spaces that address sensitive data or data critical for research. To ensure complementarity and use of latest research results\, proposals should build on ongoing and previous INFRAEOSC projects such as those funded by topics 2023-EOSC-01-06\, 2023-EOSC-01-04 and 2024-EOSC-01-04 and align with the EOSC Federation policies and standards[1].
