SUMMARY:EOSC-A 13th General Assembly
DESCRIPTION:The EOSC United and EOSC Gravity projects will hold a joint General Assembly meeting on Wednesday\, 27 May 2026 in Brussels. This full-day\, in-person meeting will bring together partners from both projects to review progress to date\, discuss key achievements\, and align on strategic priorities. The programme will conclude with a networking dinner\, offering participants an opportunity to connect and exchange insights in an informal setting. \n\nRegistration\nRegistration for the General Assembly meeting is now open. Representatives of partner organisations from the EOSC United and EOSC Gravity projects are invited to register by 07 May 2026. \n\nVenue\nThe meeting will take place at the Renaissance Brussels Hotel\, located in the European Quarter\, close to the city centre. \n\nAccommodation\nParticipants are kindly requested to arrange their own travel and accommodation. In addition to the Renaissance Brussels Hotel\, the Radisson RED Brussels is situated just a few metres from the event venue and offers a convenient alternative.

DESCRIPTION:The Research Data Alliance 27th Plenary Meeting (P27) will take place in London\, United Kingdom as an in-person event\, 6-8 October 2026. P27 will be hosted by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)\, the UK’s largest public research funder. \n\n\nUKRI brings together seven Research Councils (covering all domains)\, Research England and Innovate UK. It has a strong history of investment in open research and research infrastructure. UKRI has been supporting access to data since the 1960s through funded data services. \n\n\nRachel Bruce\, Head of Open Research at UKRI\, said: \n\n\n“We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to London and celebrating UKRI’s involvement with the RDA and international research data community\, as we work together to build a global research ecosystem where data is routinely shared and reused without barriers.”

DESCRIPTION:PIDfest 2026 will take place in Leiden\, the Netherlands\, from October 27-29\, 2026. It is intended to be a global meeting place for everyone who cares about keeping knowledge connected – across people\, systems\, disciplines\, borders\, and time. Our goal is to grow a broader\, more diverse\, more global Persistent Identifier community\, from first-timers to infrastructure leaders. \nOur theme this year is Keeping Knowledge Connected\, and the Call for Proposals is open now through March 22. We welcome proposals from all PID enthusiasts\, wherever you are on your PID journey – and in a range of session formats\, including short talks\, panels\, workshops\, “birds of a feather” sessions\, interactive presentations\, lightning talks\, and posters. Please note that you must be able to deliver your presentation in person. \nIf you have an idea that doesn’t fit neatly into one of these formats\, we’d still love to hear about it. We may even be able to connect you with other interested groups with whom you share a synergy and potential for a successful session. \n\n\nHow to submit your proposal \n\nPlease see our brief writing guide for proposals for ideas on how to pitch your session. When you’re ready you can submit your proposal here (please note that you will need to set up an account on the SURF platform where the proposal form is hosted – you will then be able to access and edit your proposal any time before the deadline). \nThe Call for Proposals will remain open through March 22. All submissions will be anonymised and reviewed by the Programme Committee\, who aim to contact everyone about their decisions by April 30.

SUMMARY:International Data Week 2027
DESCRIPTION:The International Science Council’s Committee on Data (CODATA) and World Data System (WDS)\, and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) including the local hosts\, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)\, will be hosting the International Data Week 2027 (IDW 2027) which will take place on 20-23 September 2027. IDW 2027 will be held in Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town\, South Africa. It will be supported by the Department of Science and Innovation\, and the local organising committee. \n\n\nIDW 2027 will address topics such as: enhancing and entrenching the dialogue on open science; skills development; infrastructure development; and resourcing in Africa. \n\n\nIDW 2027 will combine the RDA Plenary Meeting\, the biannual meeting of this international member organization working to develop and support global infrastructure facilitating data sharing and reuse\, and SciDataCon\, the scientific conference addressing the frontiers of data in research organized by CODATA and WDS.
