Flicker, K., Reichmann, S., Blumesberger, S., Czuray, M., Rey Mazon, M., Saurugger, B., Rauber, A. (2025). Trust in Research Practices & Infrastructures. Proceedings of STS Conference Graz, 5-7 May 2025: https://stsconf.tugraz.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/sts_conference_proceedings_2025.pdf

The paper examines how trust is established and negotiated in increasingly complex digital research workflows. Drawing on survey data and interviews across disciplines, it highlights the gap between ideals of research quality and everyday practices, showing how researchers often rely on proxies such as documentation, reputation, and institutional affiliation when reusing data, tools, and services. The findings underline the importance of transparent standards, ethical frameworks, and trustworthy research infrastructures – particularly in open and interdisciplinary contexts.
