The WorldFAIR Project's Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework
The goal of this event is to describe the reasoning behind the development of the Cross-Domain Interoperability Framework (CDIF), to give a detailed picture of how it is currently envisioned and what activities, functions, and standards it will encompass, and to provide a current status of the work.
The EC-funded WorldFAIR project is coordinated by CODATA, with RDA as a major partner, and will produce an initial draft of the CDIF recommendations. Building on WorldFAIR, and other expert communities, a Working Group and Advisory Group have been established to oversee the development of CDIF. It is expected that CDIF will persist beyond the scope of the initial WorldFAIR Project, and include not only the eleven domain case studies, but also other interested communities. Efforts will be made to align with major global initiatives and infrastructures addressing data interoperability (such as EOSC, ARDC, UNECE Modern Statistics).
The workshop will be interactive and built around structured discussion of the draft CDIF.
Target Audience:
Implementers and practitioners at all levels who are concerned with FAIR, especially in cross-domain or cross-infrastructure scenarios. The workshop is intended for those who wish a more detailed understanding of CDIF, and who may wish to implement or even become involved in its development in future.
>> Organisational Note:
The workshop will be recorded and the recordings will be made available via CODATA Vimeo. If you plan to attend the event virtually, kindly note the Data Statement for CODATA Zoom at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QdZMRNs9h3Md4ArIiJepR15f3MLOYros/view?usp=sharing
All attendees, onsite and online are expected to comply with the CODATA Code of Conduct.
RDA 20th Plenary, Gothenburg - Research Data Alliance 10th Anniversary
The Research Data Alliance will celebrate its 10th Anniversary Plenary Meeting on 21-23 March 2023 in Sweden, going back to where RDA was launched in March 2013. Following on from the success of the 19th Plenary meeting held in a hybrid format for the first time, P20 will take place in Sweden’s second-largest city – Gothenburg.
Hosted by Chalmers University of Technology, the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish National Data Service (SND), a three-day hybrid conference will once again bring together researchers, data scientists, policymakers, and data stewards from disciplines from all over the world to share new ideas and explore best practices in using data.
Call for P20 Sessions is Open until Monday 31 October 2022.
Save the Date: RDA and EOSC Future are pleased to announce a half-day satellite event in conjunction with the RDA 20th Plenary Meeting
Registration for this event will open later in 2022. Stay tuned for more information about the programme.

DDI-CDI: Optimising Your Data Description for Integration and Reuse
Target Audience:
This workshop is intended to be useful to both technical and operational staff working in organisations which produce, archive, integrate, and disseminate quantitative research data, regardless of domain orientation. It is intended to address questions about what the practical implementation of systems supporting the FAIR principles will look like, and will appeal to infrastructure players who are concerned with broadening and deepening the reusability of their data holding through enhanced data and provenance description.

Workshop on FAIR awareness: From Principles to Implementations
The goal is to increase the awareness of the FAIR Principles, to provide historical and technical context to help stakeholders better appreciate the value of FAIR and how FAIR might impact their own work in an academic environment. Participants also explore the key issues around the implementation of FAIR, and consider technology trends in FAIRification and the FAIR Orchestration of research data.
Target group: The workshop is targeted towards a broad range of stakeholders, ranging from executives, policy makers, and administrators, to information technology experts, researchers, and data stewards. Although the content is largely non-technical, a few ‘hands on’ sessions will help to ground key concepts in practical examples and exercises.

Shaping Data Spaces in Germany and Europe - Impulses from Science
The German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures (RfII) in cooperation with the Volkswagen Foundation, is organising the Herrenhausen Conference entitled "Shaping Data Spaces in Germany and Europe - Impulses from Science" on 24 and 25 April 2023 at the Xplanatorium (Herrenhausen Palace) in Hannover.
The aim of the conference is to initiate an interdisciplinary exchange that explores the need and necessary prerequisites and competences for the use of the emerging information infrastructures. Questions of sustainable governance and financing of the infrastructures will also be addressed. The conference is aimed at the various actors from research, infrastructures and science funding in Germany who are interested in data-intensive science, and focuses on the perspective of the users. The conference will develop theses that will provide impulses for further development and expansion.
