Call for input: Understanding open science monitoring landscape

24 March 2026

The OSMI Working Group 2 has published an update on their work related to open science monitoring landscape, presenting the current mapping of initiatives that track and assess open science practices worldwide.

As part of this effort, the group has identified 73 open science monitoring initiatives globally and compiled structured information on their scope, leadership, monitoring approaches, and areas of open science covered.

We are now opening this dataset for public review and invite the wider open science community to help strengthen this mapping effort.

You can contribute by completing this short Google Form.

The public review period will remain open until 24 March 2026.

Through the form, you may contribute in the following ways:

  • Correction to an existing initiative (flag inaccurate or outdated information)
  • Additional information for an existing initiative (add missing details)
  • Suggest a missing initiative (propose initiatives not yet included)
  • General comments on the dataset or review process

All submissions will be reviewed by OSMI Working Group 2 before being incorporated into the dataset.
