Stefan Reichmann, EOSC SOA: On 26 and 27 June 2025, the European Commission invited representatives of 33 Horizon Europe projects to Brussels who are working on the development of the European Open Science Cloud as part of the INFRAEOSC funding programme. The EOSC is intended to deepen the European Research Area by making research data accessible across Europe. With the establishment of the EOSC EU Node in October 2024, the selection of the first 13 Candidate Nodes in a lengthy selection process, and the establishment of the EOSC Federation Build-up Group, the EOSC has entered its build-up phase.

The final conference of the Skills4EOSC project, "Building Capacity for Open Science", took place on 11 June 2025 at Campus Condorcet in Paris. The event marked an inspiring moment of reflection and future vision, bringing together researchers, policymakers, trainers, and institutional stakeholders from across Europe.

On 27–28 May 2025, the EOSC Association community convened in Antwerp, Belgium, for its 10th General Assembly – a two-day, in-person lunch-to-lunch meeting.

On May 21–22, 2025, Brno hosted the international conference Research Data Day & EOSC National Tripartite Event, bringing together leading figures of European research, data science experts, representatives of research infrastructures, and science policy makers. The two-day programme—featuring lectures, panel discussions, expert workshops, and networking opportunities—attracted over 200 participants from 40 institutions across the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Finland, and other European countries, both in person and online.

ANTWERP – The EOSC Association welcomed three new Members and two new Observers to its membership base today. The five organisations were unanimously voted into the EOSC-A family during the Association’s 10th General Assembly.

ANTWERP — On 26 May 2025, members of the EOSC Focus and EOSC Gravity project consortiums met in Antwerp for a dedicated handover meeting ahead of the launch of EOSC Gravity in June.

The new president-elect of the EOSC Association is Klaus Tochtermann, Director of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Center for Economics, and current Treasurer of the EOSC-A Board of Directors. Klaus will begin his term on 01 July 2025.

The Guide on Development of RPO's Open Science Strategy and the Guide on Advancing Open Science: RDM & FAIR Training Framework for RPOs aim to support the RPOs in implementing Open Science principles, aligning with European and global Open Science frameworks, and fostering research excellence and innovation.

On 9 April 2025, over 120 participants, including industry leaders, researchers, and public sector representatives, gathered virtually for the OPUS Industry Workshop, hosted by the OPUS Consortium in collaboration with YERUN, Technopolis Group Belgium, the University of Cyprus, and ICoRSA. The workshop explored the transformative power of Open Science (OS) and Open Innovation (OI) in fostering cross-sector partnerships and driving industrial advancement.
