Embrace the Open: How to start an institutional OE pilot project

4 June 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

We are delighted to invite you to the eighth event in our ENOEL Workshop series, on 4 June 2024 at 4-5:50 PM CEST. The workshop topic is “Embrace the Open: How to start an institutional OE pilot project”.

Our workshop facilitators are Claudia Hackl, Open Education Austria Advanced | University of Vienna  (Austria), Mira Buist-Zhuk, University of Groningen (Netherlands), and Marta Bustillo, University College Dublin (Ireland).

During this workshop, you will discover the importance of OER and the need for institutional anchoring and infrastructure development to ensure their availability and adoption in higher education. You will also get an opportunity to explore the diverse requirements and perspectives on OER from different stakeholders when starting an institutional OE project.

With other participants, you will further reflect on the development of infrastructure and services for OER to support university teaching and research in the long run. Lastly, you will be encouraged to decide on possible next steps for your own institution on how to start an institutional OE pilot project.

Don’t miss this chance to get a better look into successful interdisciplinary cooperations between e-learning centres, central IT, education support services, and libraries in the context of Open Education!

The chat will be open for the audience to ask questions and engage in the discussion directly with our experts.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • understand the importance of OER and the need for institutional anchoring and infrastructure development to ensure
  • their availability and adoption in higher education
  • identify the diverse requirements and perspectives on OER from different stakeholders, including users, producers,
  • infrastructure managers, and policy makers.
  • generate ideas on the development of infrastructure and services for OER to support university teaching and research
  • in the long run.
  • decide on possible next steps for your own institution on how to start an institutional OE pilot project.
