The demonstration of an operational EOSC Federation, celebrated during the EOSC Symposium 2025 in Brussels, marks a major step toward the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) vision turning into reality. 13 candidate EOSC Nodes demonstrated scientific use cases, based on their connection among each other and together with the EOSC EU Node managed by the European Commission.

EOSC-A President Klaus Tochtermann took part in a panel discussion during the STOA Round Table at the European Parliament today. During his talk, Tochtermann highlighted that EOSC is not a new system. It aims to connect infrastructures that already exist in Europe to provide seamless access to data and services, following Open Science principles.

The European Commission (EC) published its much-anticipated proposals last week for the Multi-Annual Financial Framework (MFF) for 2028-2034 and related programmes, including the 10th Research and Innovation Framework Programme, Horizon Europe.
